One of the Leading mobile technology and smart life brand, itel Nigeria, has partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) to launch ‘Nourish to Flourish’, a community-driven programme designed to promote nutrition, education, and youth empowerment in Rivers State.
The outreach, which commemorated World Food Day 2025, took place in Kpite and Bunu communities within the Tai Local Government Area, reaching hundreds of children and families with nutritious meals, school supplies, and educational support.
Through the initiative, pupils from schools including Divine Academy, St James Academy, Divine Grace Schools, and Model Primary Schools 1–3 received freshly prepared meals and learning materials such as branded school bags, mathematical sets, and water bottles bridging the gap between nutrition and education for children in underserved communities.
Speaking on the initiative, Terngu Shagba, PR Supervisor at itel Nigeria, reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to improving lives beyond technology.
“At itel, we believe that true progress begins with people, especially the young ones. ‘Nourish to Flourish’ is more than CSR; it’s our way of investing in the future by ensuring children have both the nutrition and learning tools they need to thrive,” Shagba said.
Also speaking, Maume Agbaosi, Donor Relations and Partner Agency Officer at LFBI, described the collaboration as a model for how corporate partnerships can drive sustainable impact.
“Together, we’ve not only provided meals but also restored hope and happiness to children who deserve every opportunity to succeed. Combating hunger and promoting education must go hand in hand,” she said.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2, 3, and 4 Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, and Quality Education reinforcing itel’s long-term commitment to inclusive growth and community empowerment.
By combining nutrition with educational support, itel continues to demonstrate its ‘Enjoy Better Life’ philosophy through initiatives that improve welfare, foster youth development, and build stronger, more resilient communities a mission that resonates deeply with Nigeria’s MSME and social impact ecosystem.
