The Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board has opened applications for the 2025/2026 academic session. The scholarship covers full tuition fees for both undergraduate and postgraduate students who are enrolled in approved tertiary institutions. The programme is designed to support indigenes of Enugu State who are pursuing higher education and need financial assistance to advance their academic journey.

Eligibility Requirements
• Applicants must be indigenes of Enugu State. This ensures the scholarship reaches students the state government is responsible for supporting.
• Undergraduate applicants must be fully enrolled in a recognized tertiary institution, meaning the school must be accredited and officially listed.
• Undergraduate applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or its equivalent, showing consistent academic performance and commitment.
• Applicants must have a valid admission letter confirming their programme and institution.
• Postgraduate applicants must already be admitted into a Masters or PhD programme in an approved university.
• Teachers applying under the teachers’ scholarship category must be practising staff seeking professional development.

Why It Matters
• The scholarship reduces financial pressure on students, especially those from low-income families, giving them the chance to complete their studies without interruption.
• It promotes human capital development in Enugu State by supporting students who will eventually contribute to the state’s workforce and economy.
• It encourages students to maintain strong academic performance since certain categories require a minimum CGPA.
• It provides equal opportunity for students across different communities in Enugu State to access quality education.
• It strengthens the state’s commitment to education, research, and professional development, especially for teachers who play a key role in shaping future generations.

Benefits of the Scholarship
• Full tuition fee coverage for undergraduate students, allowing them to focus fully on their studies without worrying about school fees.
• Financial assistance and academic support for Masters and PhD students, which helps them advance in research and higher-level academic work.
• A dedicated Teachers Scholarship category, which supports teachers looking to upgrade their qualifications, improve their skills, and enhance classroom impact.
• Increased opportunities for students to complete their academic programs on time without setbacks caused by financial challenges.
• Support that enhances confidence, stability, and long-term career readiness for beneficiaries.

Required Documents
• A completed application form obtained after securing a voucher code.
• A valid means of identification to confirm the applicant’s identity.
• A Certificate of Local Government of Origin to verify Enugu State indigene status.
• An official admission letter from the tertiary institution indicating the course and year of entry.
• A letter of acceptance acknowledging admission into the institution.
• An attestation letter issued by the traditional ruler (HRH) of the applicant’s community, confirming origin and character.
• All required documents must be scanned together into one PDF file not exceeding 2MB to ensure smooth upload during online application.

How to Apply
• Obtain an application voucher by visiting the Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board office at 28 Okpara Avenue, Old CCB Building, Enugu.
• Alternatively, applicants may call the board for enquiries or support before applying.
• Prepare all required documents based on the scholarship category. Each document must be clear, complete, and properly scanned.
• Combine all documents into a single PDF file (maximum of 2MB).

• Enter the voucher code, fill in all required fields, upload the document, and submit the application form.
