The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Ltd has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing women’s empowerment, leadership, and inclusion through strategic partnerships and continuous investment in women-focused initiatives.
At a leadership session during the 24th Annual Women’s Conference held in Lagos, NBC’s Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Oluwasoromidayo George, joined other accomplished female leaders to share insights on navigating leadership with authenticity, courage, and purpose.
Speaking during the panel themed “Leading from the Inside Out: Balancing Ambition, Vulnerability & Purpose,” George emphasised the importance of intentionality and self-awareness for women building careers in today’s dynamic business environment. She noted that modern workplaces must evolve to support employees holistically professionally and personally so they can thrive and make meaningful contributions.
George highlighted that true leadership goes beyond ambition; it requires vulnerability, emotional intelligence, and a strong sense of purpose.
“Women must learn to embrace their journeys and lead from a place of clarity and conviction,” she said, adding that sustainable leadership comes from aligning personal values with professional goals.
NBC, a long-time advocate of gender inclusion, continues to implement programmes that support women in its workforce and across its value chain. These initiatives include capacity-building workshops, mentorship opportunities, and entrepreneurship support designed to equip women with the tools they need to excel.
The company also reiterated that empowering women is essential to driving economic growth, strengthening communities, and building resilient organisations.
With its sustained commitment, NBC says it remains focused on creating an enabling environment where women can lead, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.
