The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria has officially launched the 2025 National MSME Conference with a dynamic opening event themed Fashion and Food Only. Held on November 16 at the UNDP Innovation Centre, the event celebrated the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of Nigeria’s emerging brands in the fashion and food sectors, which remain key drivers of growth and innovation in the country’s MSME landscape.
The showcase offered entrepreneurs a platform to present their products, interact with potential buyers, and gain insights from policymakers and industry leaders on strategies to scale operations, improve export readiness, and access broader markets. Attendees were able to explore a diverse range of products, from innovative fashion designs to artisanal and packaged food items, highlighting the ingenuity and market potential of small businesses across Nigeria.
Government representatives and private sector leaders underscored the importance of supporting MSMEs as engines of job creation, economic diversification, and value chain development. The event also provided opportunities for networking, mentorship, and collaboration, reflecting SMEDAN’s commitment to creating an enabling ecosystem for entrepreneurs.
Organizers emphasized that the conference is not just a showcase, but a platform for shaping policy, strengthening business support systems, and fostering partnerships that can help MSMEs grow sustainably. By connecting entrepreneurs with investors, development partners, and technical experts, the event aims to bridge gaps in financing, market access, and capacity building, ensuring that small businesses in the fashion and food sectors are equipped to compete both locally and internationally.
The 2025 National MSME Conference continues to spotlight the role of creative and agribusiness enterprises in driving Nigeria’s economic growth, promoting innovation, and empowering a new generation of entrepreneurs to transform ideas into thriving businesses.
