The Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives has introduced the Skill-Aid Initiative in partnership with a leading publishing organisation to train young Nigerians in printing operations and management. The program is designed to build practical competence in modern printing systems, production workflows and operational management.
According to the organizers, the initiative addresses the rising demand for technical skills across Nigeria’s creative, publishing and manufacturing sectors. They noted that by equipping young people with hands-on training, the program will help strengthen the talent pipeline for small and medium printing businesses nationwide.
The organisers explained that the partnership reflects the Federal Government’s broader commitment to expanding youth-centred technical development platforms. They added that improving access to specialized knowledge will enhance employability and support entrepreneurship for young Nigerians looking to build careers in production and publishing.
For MSMEs, the Skill-Aid Initiative offers a pathway to a more competent and reliable workforce. It reduces dependence on informal apprenticeships and promotes structured training that can raise productivity and improve service quality.
Stakeholders believe the programme will enable local printing businesses to adopt modern techniques, upgrade operations and compete more effectively within Nigeria’s evolving digital and print markets.
