Launched in 2025 by UAE education philanthropist Sunny Varkey, the Global Schools Prize completes a transformative trilogy that includes the Global Teacher Prize and Global Student Prize. Together, these awards fuel a global conversation around excellence in teaching, learning, and educational leadership, spotlighting the people and institutions pushing education forward.
Eligibility
The Global Schools Prize is open to:
• All government-run schools worldwide
• All privately funded schools worldwide
• Institutions serving students up to age 18
• Schools operating in full compliance with their local laws
• Schools that can demonstrate exceptional commitment to quality education, innovation, and impact
Categories
Schools may apply for multiple categories.
Each submission will be assessed using rigorous, globally benchmarked criteria designed to recognise institutions leading change in different dimensions of education.
Benefits
• Ten category winners will each receive US $50,000.
