Emerald Rose Foundation Begins Training of 20,000 Ondo Women in Entrepreneurship and Vocational Skills
Share

The Emerald Rose Women Foundation has commenced training for more than 20,000 women across the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State through entrepreneurial and vocational programmes designed to strengthen economic participation and expand access to income opportunities for young women. Beneficiaries are currently taking courses in digital literacy, event planning, soap production, food packaging and human resources management, among other skills that support employability and small business development.

At the launch ceremony held in Akure, the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Iwagun Faith, said the initiative seeks to empower young women, build confidence, and expand their capacity for growth and self-actualisation. She explained that the programme combines skill acquisition with leadership training, emotional support, advocacy, and mindset development to help women navigate opportunities more boldly. According to her, the goal is to equip participants with practical skills, elevate the voices of the marginalised, and encourage girls to pursue their ambitions without fear or limitation.

She noted that although the project has already begun reaching thousands, the total number of women to benefit cannot be fixed because the programme is continuous and open to expansion. She added that the foundation was established out of a desire to raise a generation of equipped and purpose-driven women capable of contributing meaningfully to society.

A major moment at the event was the public unveiling of her new book, titled Reputable Woman and Her Lifestyle: A Woman’s Guide to Discovering Her Worth and Achieving Success. She explained that the publication reflects her commitment to helping young women recognise their value, embrace personal growth, and build pathways to success in their careers and life journeys.
