The Love For Change Women Foundation has concluded its inaugural EmpowerHER Entrepreneurship Workshop, equipping young women entrepreneurs with practical skills to build sustainable, legacy-driven businesses and strengthen women-led MSMEs.
The one-day workshop, held recently in Lagos, brought together women aged 20 to 40 for intensive training, peer learning, and business development sessions. The programme was themed “From Hustle to Legacy: Building a Business That Outlives You.”
Delivering the keynote address, global education leader Olamitoyosi Babatunde urged participants to think beyond day-to-day survival and focus on long-term impact. She highlighted the importance of understanding the three stages of financial legacy: making money, keeping money, and growing money, while encouraging a generational shift towards intentionally building businesses that can endure.
Capacity development specialist Inyene Hadassah, who facilitated the workshop, led sessions on emotional intelligence in business, customer relationship management, stress handling, and empathetic leadership. Participants were also guided through business model development, helping them clearly define customer segments, revenue streams and growth strategies.
In her welcome address, Founder of Love For Change Women Foundation, Modupeola Bello Olukoya, said the EmpowerHER initiative reflects the foundation’s mission to expand economic opportunities for women in underserved communities through access to knowledge, networks and sustainable income pathways.
“As women, having a consistent source of income is essential because it gives you the freedom to make empowered decisions for your life and family,” Olukoya said. “We want young women to build well-structured, sustainable businesses and achieve financial independence.”
She added that the workshop was designed to help participants refine their ideas, gain clarity and build intentionally, noting that the relationships formed during the programme would continue to support their businesses beyond the event.
The workshop followed the successful completion of the eight-week EmpowerHER Bootcamp, a virtual programme focused on digital entrepreneurship, personal branding, brand visibility and digital marketing.
In partnership with Visionary Leaders Global Network, the foundation also awarded business support grants to outstanding bootcamp participants to help stabilise and scale their ventures.
The Love For Change Women Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs, strengthening women-led MSMEs and fostering inclusive economic growth through the EmpowerHER initiative.
