Call For Applications: She  Code Africa Academy Program 2026 For Nigerian  Women

The She Code Africa Academy is a flagship capacity-building programme created to address the gender gap in tech by providing women with accessible, high-quality, and industry-relevant digital skills. Sponsored by HP, the programme combines hands-on learning, mentorship, and career development support to help participants transition confidently into the tech ecosystem.

This programme is ideal for women who are curious about technology, eager to learn, and ready to commit to an intensive learning experience that builds both technical competence and career readiness.

 

About the programme
The She Code Africa Academy runs for three months and is delivered 100 percent virtually, allowing participants to learn from anywhere in Nigeria. Throughout the programme, learners will receive structured training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and career-focused guidance to support their long-term growth in tech.

Learning tracks
Participants will be trained in one of the following in-demand tech areas, carefully designed to match current industry needs:

Cybersecurity
Data Science
DevOps Engineering

Who can apply

The programme is open to Nigerian women who meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be female
  • Applicants must be Nigerian citizens
  • Applicants must be between 20 and 35 years old
  • Applicants must be interested in starting or advancing a career in technology
  • Applicants must be available to participate fully in a three-month virtual programme
  • Applicants must have access to a stable internet connection and a suitable learning environment

Educational background
No specific academic degree is required. The programme welcomes beginners as well as women who already have some experience and want to strengthen their technical skills. Applicants are expected to demonstrate motivation, commitment, and a genuine interest in learning.

Additional requirements
Applicants must be willing to provide personal and background information during the application process. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit a 90-second motivation video at the final stage, explaining their interest in the programme and commitment to their chosen learning track.

Application process

The application process is fully online and serves as the first step in selecting participants.

Applicants are required to complete the official application form, provide personal and background information, select a preferred learning track, and submit the form after reviewing all details. The application takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete, and applicants are encouraged to apply in a quiet and distraction-free environment.

Final stage
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to upload a 90-second video explaining their motivation, interest, and commitment to their selected learning track. Successful applicants will be contacted by the She Code Africa team with details on the next steps.
