The Federal Government has launched a new “Impact Challenge” to strengthen outcomes from its flagship 3 Million Tech Talent (3MTT) programme, as it prepares to expand digital skills training across Nigeria.

Announcing the initiative on X, the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Mr. Bosun Tijani, said the pilot phase of 3MTT has trained over 135,000 Nigerians across three cohorts. Community resources have extended the learning experience to more than 300,000 learners, contributing to the creation of 15,000 jobs and opportunity pathways. Currently, over 1.8 million Nigerians are in the #3MTT pipeline, moving the programme closer to its goal of equipping three million citizens with in-demand digital skills.

The #3MTTImpactChallenge invites participants to share “before and after” stories on social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Instagram. Posts must include the hashtags #My3MTTStory, #3MTTImpactChallenge, #3MTTNigeria, tag the official accounts of President Bola Tinubu, the Minister, and 3MTT Nigeria, and at least two partner organisations such as UNDP, Airtel Nigeria, MTN Nigeria, Huawei, Moniepoint, Google, Microsoft, EU, AWS, IHS, or Denmark.

The challenge seeks to capture the programme’s real-world impact on participants’ skills, employability, and career growth, while also engaging alumni and partners in shaping the next phase of 3MTT.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, February 14, 2026, with prizes including 10 laptops, 200 e-tablets, 10GB data bundles, and more.

According to Tijani, the initiative will help the government measure impact, strengthen the alumni community, expand access to opportunities, and ensure digital skills translate into tangible outcomes for Nigerian youth.

This challenge marks a key step in scaling 3MTT’s reach nationwide, driving innovation, digital empowerment, and employability for the next generation of tech-savvy Nigerians.
