The Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) has kicked off its third Financial Literacy and Inclusion Awareness Campaign, aimed at equipping Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and individuals with essential financial skills to enhance business success and financial security.
The 3-day event, which includes market visits across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), focuses on bridging financial knowledge gaps and empowering entrepreneurs with the tools to make informed business decisions. Small and medium business owners are actively participating in the campaign to improve their financial management skills.
Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe, Managing Director and CEO of AEA, highlighted the campaign’s accomplishments since its inception. Over 150,000 households in the FCT have been sensitized on financial literacy, and 38,127 MSMEs have benefited from business and financial education. Furthermore, around 30,000 MSMEs have gained access to grant and loan facilities through government and private sector interventions.
The campaign employs various outreach methods, including electronic media, social media platforms, roadshows, seminars, and market visits, involving strategic partners and stakeholders across the FCT’s six area councils.
Looking ahead, Ugwuada-Ezirigwe announced plans to launch the Abuja Business School of Entrepreneurship (ABSE), which will offer programs tailored to meet the evolving needs of the global entrepreneurial landscape, providing further support for business growth in the region.
This initiative continues AEA’s efforts to empower MSMEs, fostering financial inclusion and driving economic development across the FCT.
