As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to promote youth empowerment and creativity, ABUMET Nigeria Ltd, a leading aluminium and glass solutions provider, has organised its first-ever Graffiti Art Competition in Abuja.
The event, which focused on education and human capital development, provided university students with a platform to express their artistic creativity while incorporating elements of ABUMET’s identity including aluminium profiles, façades, and craftsmanship.
According to the company, the two-day competition saw students transform blank shipping containers into vibrant works of art, judged by experienced local artists based on creativity, originality, execution, and impact.
At the end of the contest, Johaness emerged as the overall winner, receiving a N1 million cash prize. Zaphaniel and Boluwatife came second and third, earning N500,000 and N300,000, respectively. All other participants also received consolation prizes in recognition of their creativity and effort.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, ABUMET’s General Manager, Diemo Schillack, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting innovation among Nigerian youths.
“ABUMET’s effort in organising the graffiti competition is deliberate. We have a mission to empower young talents, encouraging them to identify and excel in their areas of strength for their personal growth and the good of society,” Schillack said.
He added that the company plans to sustain such initiatives to build on the momentum created and deepen its contribution to youth development in Nigeria.
Through projects like the ABUMET Graffiti Art Competition, the company continues to demonstrate its commitment to youth empowerment, creativity, and sustainable community growth values that align with the broader goals of fostering innovation and talent within Nigeria’s MSME and creative ecosystem.
