Access Bank and ASolar Systems launch Solar-Powered Solutions for SMEs' Energy Challenges
Share

Access Bank Plc, in collaboration with ASolar Systems Nigeria, has launched a range of green energy products aimed at supporting small-scale businesses dealing with power supply issues nationwide.

The newly launched products, including solar-powered TV sets, air conditioners, and PoS machines, were unveiled at Access Bank’s Garki branch in Abuja during the event named “Light Up Your Community.”

Victor Etuokwu, Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank, highlighted the power challenges faced by small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which hinder financial inclusion in rural areas, crucial for Nigeria’s economic growth.

Neka Aduogu, representing Etuokwu, emphasized the significant impact of inconsistent power supply on SMEs, necessitating significant expenses for generators and fuel, hindering modern financial services adoption in rural areas.

Etuokwu expressed enthusiasm for a transformative journey, introducing cost-effective solar-powered solutions tailored specifically for SMEs, enabling a shift away from costly and unreliable energy sources.

Hakeem Shagaya, CEO of Asolar Systems, revealed that their products range between N150,000 and N300,000 per unit, with payment options spread over a six-month period. The company has already sold around 80,000 units and plans to expand distribution through Access Bank agents nationwide.

Chizoba Iheme, Group Head of Financial Inclusion at Access Bank, shared that the bank boasts over 300,000 agents across the country, facilitating the distribution of these innovative energy solutions, aiming to empower SMEs and enhance financial inclusion in underserved areas.
