Access Bank and REAN Collaborate to Drive Affordable Renewable Energy in Nigeria
Share

At the 2024 Renewable Energy Conference organized by the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN), Access Bank and REAN emphasized their commitment to accelerating affordable energy access across Nigeria. Held under the theme, *“Unlocking Affordable Energy for All”*, the event underscored the vital role of partnerships in transforming Nigeria’s energy landscape.

Ayo Ademilua, REAN President, praised Access Bank’s involvement, noting the bank’s recent focus on advancing renewable energy initiatives. “We are glad that Access Bank is with us in promoting clean energy. Their renewed commitment is encouraging, and we’re here to support and collaborate with them,” he said. Ademilua further expressed hope for significant financial support from Access Bank, highlighting the critical need for funding in renewable energy.

Gregory Jobome, Executive Director of Risk Management at Access Bank, underscored the bank’s dedication to renewable energy. “Energy is the backbone of economic development and a fundamental need,” Jobome stated. He emphasized that Access Bank’s investment in renewable energy stems from a vision for an inclusive future where affordable energy is accessible to all Nigerians.

Jobome highlighted that renewable energy has moved beyond aspiration to necessity, saying, “We’re proud to work with REAN to drive initiatives that can reshape Nigeria’s energy sector. Transforming this sector requires not only financing but partnerships, innovative solutions, and a commitment to overcoming barriers.”

He added that Access Bank aims to facilitate projects that will attract investment, encourage local manufacturing, and promote clean energy adoption. “Through our collaborative efforts and innovative financing, we can create the necessary framework for progress in renewable energy,” Jobome concluded.

The conference provided a dynamic platform for stakeholders to discuss strategies, share insights, and lay the groundwork for initiatives that will drive Nigeria closer to universal energy access.
