On the 27th of April, 2023, Google.org announced seven “Leaders to Watch” from nonprofits around the world. Each awardee will receive an unrestricted financial award of $30k for personal or professional development and mentorship from senior leaders at Google.

With a bright spirit, genuine curiosity, and a passion for helping others, Adenike Adeyemi works hard to support small and growing businesses as the Executive Director of FATE Foundation. It’s the perfect role for someone like her to combine her passions for business and social impact.

This year’s Leaders to Watch list recognizes rising changemakers from recent Google.org grantees who are striving to build a better future for everyone. Many are solving problems with innovative tech, while others are making the technology industry more accessible and inclusive. All seven leaders were recognized on the Google Search page on April 28, 2023 in the US, UK, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, France, Sweden, Nigeria, Mexico, Bolivia, and Uruguay.

“These leaders are at the helm of organizations tackling some of the world’s most complex collective challenges,”
says Jacquelline Fuller, President, Google.org. “We hope that by supporting the personal and professional development of these inspiring social innovators, we can play a role in accelerating both their individual work and the progress that their teams and organizations are making each day.”

Adenike is an exceptional leader as the Executive Director of FATE Foundation, Nigeria’s foremost business incubator and accelerator program. Over the past 8 years, she has demonstrated a remarkable ability to drive growth and success for the organization, while leading a dynamic and talented team.

Under Adenike’s leadership, FATE Foundation has become a pivotal force in enabling early-stage entrepreneurs to start, grow, and scale their businesses. Her visionary approach and strategic direction have resulted in tangible outcomes, including the creation of job opportunities and the empowerment of countless entrepreneurs across Nigeria.

Adenike’s unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her a well-deserved reputation as a game-changer in the Nigerian business community. Her dedication and passion have undoubtedly fueled the growth and success of FATE Foundation, making her a true inspiration to all those who aspire to make a positive impact in their communities.

“I am honored to be recognized as one of Google.org’s Leaders to Watch for 2023,” says Adenike Adeyemi, Executive Director, FATE Foundation. “The funding and support come at a pivotal time as we deepen our work and scale our impact in the entrepreneurship ecosystem particularly through digital innovation and policy advocacy bearing in mind the strategic importance of small and growing businesses in accelerating sustainable socio-economic growth not just in Nigeria but all over the world”.
