Adesina Announces Opening of African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)

President of African Development Bank, AfDB, Akinwumi Adesina, today, Friday January 1, announced the opening of African Continental Free Trade Area, as Britain practically commenced implementation of Brexit.

Adesina, in a tweet, assured that The African Development Bank will play its role to make the African Continental Free Trade Area, a success.

He stated: “Congratulations to Africa as the African Continental Free Trade Area opens today — the largest free trade zone in the world. The African Development Bank will play its role in making it a success.”

A tweet from AfCFTA Nigeria (@AFCFTANG) reads : “A new dawn for #Nigerian businesses and a new era for our #trade communities is finally here.

“@AfCFTANG is working with key government agencies and the private sector to ensure smooth and beneficial implementation of the #AfCFTA agreement in #Nigeria.

“We are ready!!!”
