AfriLabs and UM6P Ventures Announce Strategic Partnership to Empower African Startups

AfriLabs and UM6P Ventures Announce Strategic Partnership to Empower African Startups

AfriLabs, the largest network of technology and innovation hubs across Africa, and UM6P Ventures, dedicated to advancing entrepreneurship and scientific innovation in Morocco and Africa, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to foster co-innovation and support startups within the UM6P ecosystem.

 

 Key Highlights of the Collaboration

Signing Ceremony and Duration:

– The MOU was signed during the GITEX Africa event held in Marrakech, Morocco from May 29th to 31st.

– This collaboration will span one year, focusing on stimulating economic growth and innovation across the continent.

 

Objectives and Initiatives:

– Startup Support: The partnership will provide mentorship, resources, and access to AfriLabs’ network of over 450 technology innovation hubs across 53 African countries, supporting startups within the UM6P ecosystem.

– Investment Opportunities: The AfriLabs Connect Deal Room (ACDR) initiative will offer a pipeline of de-risked and investible startups to UM6P Ventures, facilitating investment opportunities.

– Co-Innovation Projects: Joint projects will leverage UM6P’s research and development capabilities alongside AfriLabs’ entrepreneurial ecosystem to address local and regional challenges.

– Educational Programs: Potential UM6P courses tailored for the AfriLabs Academy audience will be explored to enhance educational offerings and skill development.
