The African Forum and Network on Debt and Development (AFRODAD) is inviting young professionals to apply for its 2026 Internship Program. This opportunity is designed for emerging leaders passionate about Africa’s inclusive economic growth, public finance, debt justice, and policy reform.

AFRODAD is a Pan-African civil society organization working across 16 African countries to strengthen accountability, governance, and responsible borrowing through research, advocacy, and public participation.

Why It Matters
Africa’s development is deeply tied to how governments manage debt, mobilize resources, and negotiate global finance. This internship offers hands-on experience in shaping policies that impact public spending, economic justice, and sustainable development—critical areas for anyone aspiring to influence Africa’s financial future.

Available Internship Tracks (6 Months)
Interns will work under one of the following thematic or operational areas:

  •  Policy, Research & Advocacy

  • Domestic Resource Mobilization (DRM)
  • Legal, Advocacy & Analysis on Debt (LAAD) International
  • Public & Private Finance (IPPF)
  • Campaigns & Communication
  •  Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (M&E)
  • Human Resources & Administration
  • Finance & Administration
  • Executive Director’s Office

Location

  • Full-time reporting in AFRODAD offices: Harare, Zimbabwe or Yaoundé, Cameroon
  • Remote arrangements available for candidates in other countries

  • Young professionals passionate about Africa’s economic policy, governance, advocacy, finance, or development
  • Graduates and early-career individuals seeking experience in research, policy analysis, communication, or CSO leadership
  • Applicants committed to social justice, accountability, and Pan-African development
