AI in Nigeria has unveiled plans to organize InnovateAI Lagos 2024, an upcoming artificial intelligence (AI) conference and hackathon. Themed ‘Adapting AI for Nigeria: Crafting Intelligent Solutions for Our Unique Landscape,’ the event aims to explore the transformative potential of AI in addressing the distinct challenges and opportunities within the Nigerian context.

Scheduled for February 23 and 24, 2023, the conference and the Hackathon Grand Finale will take place at the Landmark Event Center in Victoria Island. InnovateAI Lagos 2024 is expected to draw over 1,000 professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, thought leaders, enterprise businesses, and regulators—all sharing a common interest in AI and its capacity to revolutionize society.

The event provides a platform for networking, collaboration, and contributing to the future development of AI in Nigeria and beyond.

Key features of InnovateAI Lagos 2024 include insights from industry pioneers, with Rodger Werkhoven, Creative Director at OpenAI (ChatGPT), among the notable speakers. Werkhoven played a crucial role in creating DALL-E and the creative elements of ChatGPT.

Participants will also have the opportunity to showcase AI-based products, build relationships and collaborations, gain insights into the evolving AI landscape in Nigeria (covering regulation, ethics, safety, and responsible deployment), and access a pool of AI software developers tasked with creating sustainable AI solutions for sector-specific challenges.
