Bauchi State Governor Partners SMEDAN For SME Development

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has affirmed his commitment to supporting the Commissioner of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Honourable Sadiq Hamisu Shira, in consolidating the partnership between the state government and SMEDAN. The collaboration aims to implement targeted programs fostering job creation, poverty reduction, and addressing youth restiveness.

Governor Bala Mohammed praised Commissioner Sadiq Hamisu Shira for his tireless efforts and engagement with critical stakeholders to advance SMEs’ development in the state. He emphasized the importance of small and medium enterprises in economic growth, regional development, flexibility, social impact, and diversification of the economy.

The governor extended an invitation to SMEDAN and other enterprise organizations to participate in a zonal trade fair scheduled to be held in Bauchi in February 2024. Meanwhile, Charles Odii, the Director-General of SMEDAN, expressed appreciation for Governor Bala Mohammed’s efforts in strengthening SME activities by providing technical and financial services to enhance their operations.

Charles Odii acknowledged the governor’s empowerment programs across Bauchi’s local government areas and assured SMEDAN’s support for additional interventions in the state. Commissioner Sadiq Hamisu Shira reiterated his commitment to supporting Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration in implementing SME-focused policies and programs for economic growth and development.
