In response to Nigeria’s growing youth unemployment crisis, Bright Rays Care Foundation has announced plans to empower 2,000 Nigerian student entrepreneurs through its new ElevateNext project. With Nigeria’s unemployment rate reaching 5.3% in the first quarter of 2024, the foundation’s Executive Director, Amos Ogunola, highlighted youth entrepreneurship as a critical path to economic stability.
The ElevateNext project, described by Ogunola as a “transformative initiative,” is a cohort-based bootcamp tailored to students across Nigerian universities. Built around a state-of-the-art Learning Management System, the program offers a robust curriculum covering digital skills for business growth, strategies for leveraging technology, financial literacy, budgeting, and sustainable business growth.
“Our goal is to create a new generation of entrepreneurs equipped not just to survive but to lead and innovate. With the ElevateNext Project, we are laying the groundwork for sustainable economic growth through education and empowerment,” Ogunola said.
The initiative not only provides training but also funding, ensuring a wide range of participants can access valuable resources and mentorship. Ogunola further expressed his commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, aiming to provide young entrepreneurs with the tools they need for long-term success.
