The African Union Internship Program 2025 is now open for applications, offering a full-time paid internship opportunity for young Africans seeking practical experience in continental development, diplomacy, and policy work. Designed for final-year students, recent graduates, and early professionals, the program provides hands-on exposure to AU structures while grooming the next generation of African leaders. The initiative aims to strengthen leadership capacity, build professional skills, and create room for collaboration among participants from all AU member states in a multicultural work environment.
The internship runs across various AU departments, including Policy & Peacebuilding, Education & Innovation, Health and Social Development, Agriculture, Blue Economy, Infrastructure, Trade, Legal Affairs, Partnerships, Information and Communication, among others. Placement depends on the organizational needs of the AU and the applicant’s academic background.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
• Be in their final year of a Bachelor’s program or hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or postgraduate qualification.
• Be a citizen of an African Union Member State.
• Be 32 years or younger at the time of application.
• Be fluent in at least one AU working language, including English, French, Arabic, or Portuguese.
• Present proof of good conduct with no serious criminal record.
• Show interest in the AU’s mission and ability to work respectfully in a multicultural environment.
• No previous work experience is required.

• Certified academic certificates or enrollment letter.
• Updated CV using the AU CV template.
• A recommendation letter from an institution of learning.
