The Adewuyi Research Animal Foundation (ARA Foundation) has officially opened its January–February 2026 Research Grant Phase, offering Nigerian biomedical researchers the opportunity to share in a ₦1,000,000 Research Animal Grant.

This grant is designed to support animal-based biomedical research across Nigerian tertiary institutions and encourage ethical, high-quality scientific investigations.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must be Nigerian citizens and must be currently enrolled in a Nigerian tertiary institution.
  • The grant is open to biomedical researchers at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Master’s and PhD candidates.
  • Researchers from all biomedical and life science disciplines are eligible to apply. The proposed research must involve animal-based biomedical investigations.
  • While not compulsory, having ethical approval for animal research will strengthen an applicant’s chances of selection.

Who Should Apply
This grant is suitable for undergraduate biomedical students conducting animal-based research projects, postgraduate students in biomedical or life science fields who require research animal support, and early-career researchers working with animal models. It is particularly relevant for researchers seeking financial support to carry out ethical, high-quality animal-based biomedical experiments within Nigerian institutions.

Grant Value and Coverage
The Adewuyi Research Animal Foundation is offering a total of ₦1,000,000 as a Research Animal Grant. This amount will be shared among selected beneficiaries and is intended strictly to support animal-based biomedical research activities.

Focus Area
The grant is dedicated exclusively to biomedical research involving animals. Proposals must demonstrate scientific relevance, ethical consideration, and alignment with high standards of animal research practice.

Selection Process
Selection is competitive and merit-based. Only applicants who meet all stated eligibility criteria will be considered. Ethical compliance and clarity of research purpose will play an important role in the evaluation process.

Application Timeline
The application opens on 1st January 2026 and closes on 21st January 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.
