Call For Applications: Bank of Agriculture / Heifer Nigeria National Agricultural Mechanization Program For Young Agripreneur
Share

If you’re a young agripreneur (18–35), a woman involved in mechanized farming, or a mechanization service provider in Nigeria, this opportunity could accelerate your agricultural venture. The Bank of Agriculture (BOA), in partnership with Heifer International Nigeria, has launched the Renewed Hope National Agricultural Mechanization Program (NAMP) to increase access to tractors and implements across Nigeria. Nigeria’s agriculture sector continues to face mechanization gaps that limit productivity and incomes for small-scale farmers and youth. Through NAMP, BOA and Heifer are offering 2,000 tractors and 9,000 implements under a Pay-As-You-Go lease model, accompanied by technical support via mechanization hubs and digital tracking.
For the MSMEs, especially youth- and women-led agribusinesses across Nigeria, this program opens a pathway to modernize operations without bearing all upfront cost risk.

Benefits:

  • Access to tractors and implements under a lease model tailored to agribusiness service providers and emerging mechanization companies.
  • Technical support and preventive maintenance via mechanization hubs, improving uptime and operational efficiency.
  • Digital IoT-based tracking of machine usage, helping enhance transparency and asset performance.
  • Flexible repayment linked to usage and income generation, which means payments align with farming cycles rather than rigid schedules.

Eligibility:
The program is open to:

  • Youth aged 18–35 actively engaged or intending to engage in mechanization services.
  • Women-led mechanization enterprises or service providers in agricultural mechanization.
  • Registered mechanization companies or service providers in Nigeria with the capacity to deploy tractors or mechanized farming implements.
Applicants will need to show business viability, operational readiness, and willingness to participate in the program’s lease/usage framework.

Duration & Deadline:

  • Application deadline: 10 November 2025.
  • Lease term for equipment: typically 3–5 years under the program.

Tips and FAQs:

  • Prepare key documents early. Ensure you have registered business details, a mechanization service plan, and any financial history ready before approaching the form.
  • Clearly articulate your service model. Whether you plan to operate a tractor-hire service or provide mechanized farming for others, the application should show how you’ll generate income and repay the lease.
  • Highlight youth or women leadership. As youth (18–35) and women service providers are priority groups, emphasize your role, business model, and readiness.
  • Demonstrate readiness for usage. Leasing equipment means you should be able to deploy it; include your target service area, crop types, expected workloads, and maintenance plan.
  • Understand the ongoing costs. Beyond the down payment and lease, maintenance, fuel, labor, and asset management matter; show you have considered them.
  • Check the full lease terms. The program mentions a down payment (often 25 %) and interest around 15 % for some cases.
  • Avoid vague applications. Applications that do not clearly indicate mechanization service, equipment usage plan, or income model may be deprioritized.

How to Apply:

  1. Visit the official application page: NAMP Application (boanig.com)
  2. Complete the online form and upload the required documentation (business registration, mechanization plan, and team details).
  3. Review all entries and submit before the 10 November 2025 deadline. Applications after this date may not be considered.
