Call For Applications: Climate Action Africa CAAF24 Deal Room

The Climate Action Africa Forum (CAAF) serves as a vital platform that brings together a diverse range of stakeholders to advance and achieve climate action in Africa. Anchored in the Nairobi Declaration, CAAF emphasizes the critical role of the private sector in meeting commitments and responding to the call for action.

The CAAF Deal Room is a strategic initiative aligned with CAAF’ s objective 1(b), which aims to boost investments in Africa ‘ s green economy. By fostering a community of innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors, the Deal Room aims to facilitate financing for solutions contributing to the growth and sustainability of Africa’s green economy. These deals may encompass prize money, equity plans, debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, and other investment options, thereby contributing to the growth and sustainability of Africa’s green economy.

CAAF24 DealRoom will prioritize investment opportunities in the following target sectors.

  • Emissions Reductions
  • Energy
  • Building & Construction
  • Smart Agriculture
  • Circular Economy
  • Transportation and Mobility

Target Audience

  • Venture Capitalists
  • Green SMEs
  • Impact Investors
  • Philanthropic Organizations
  • Climate Tech Startups
  • Government Representatives

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible startups and SMEs must operate within the Climate-Tech domain, specifically focusing on one or more of the following areas: Emissions Reduction, Energy, Agriculture, transportation, building and construction and circular economy,

    • Must fall within the target sectors
    • Must be post-MVP
    • Must be post-GTM
    • Must be between 1-5 years post-incorporation
    • Must be for-profit
    • Being female-owned/lead is an added advantage
    • Must be leveraging digital technology to deliver its business model
    • Must be an African Company**
    • **An African Company is one that is: Owned by Africans and operating in any of the 54 African countries.

    Owned by at least one African and operating in any of the 54 African countries
