Nigerian students can now apply for the new cycle of the Cowrywise Ambassadors Scholarship , a program that awards successful applicants ₦200,000 yearly alongside mentorship, internship access, and financial-skills development. The initiative is one of the most impactful campus opportunities for students seeking both financial support and career exposure.

About the Scholarship

The scholarship is offered through the Cowrywise Ambassadors Program, a nationwide financial literacy and leadership platform active in over 460 tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Beyond funding, the scheme focuses on empowering young people with digital finance knowledge, personal development tools, entrepreneurship support, and community-driven growth. Selected scholars will become part of the Cowrywise Ambassadors Community, supporting financial literacy campaigns within their institutions while building leadership skills.

Why This Matters

Many students struggle with tuition, textbooks, gadgets, and upkeep, this scholarship helps ease financial pressure while ensuring students stay focused on learning. More importantly, the support goes beyond funding. Beneficiaries receive mentorship, internship pathways, and financial literacy education that prepares them for life after school. As Nigeria’s fintech sector rapidly grows, exposure to Cowrywise’s ecosystem gives students a competitive advantage for future opportunities, both locally and globally.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in any recognised Nigerian tertiary institution, federal, state, or private universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
  • Candidates must demonstrate creativity, effective communication, leadership potential, and a willingness to learn.
  • Applicants should be willing to actively participate in Cowrywise Ambassador activities on campus and promote financial literacy among peers.
  • The opportunity is open to all departments and disciplines. No finance background is required.

Benefits for Selected Students

  • Annual scholarship award of ₦200,000 to support academic and personal needs.
  • Access to paid internship slots with Cowrywise and partner organisations.
  • Financial education training covering saving, investing, wealth building, and digital finance tools.
  • Career mentorship, professional exposure, and networking opportunities.
  • Business and entrepreneurship support for students building innovative ideas or campus ventures.
  • Certificates, branded packs, and continuous community engagement that strengthen CVs and career profiles.
