Call For Applications: Faith Foundation Aspiring Entrepreneurs Sustainability Program

FATE Foundation in partnership with Youth Business International (YBI) is pleased to announce the launch of the Aspiring Entrepreneurs Programme, Sustainability. This program is delivered using YBI’s flagship Green and Social Toolkits. The Green & Social Entrepreneurship Toolkit brings together a collection of 14 tools developed to empower start-ups and existing businesses with a social and green focus. These tools cover a range of areas, from legal health checks to business future-proofing, and build on the entrepreneur’s knowledge and experience of what works and what doesn’t when it comes to working with green and social practices to run their business successfully.

The program will run for 9 weeks. Participants will be exposed to an enterprise education program focused on gaining essential business knowledge, strategies, skills, and tools to build sustainable businesses within the green and social ecosystem.

To qualify, entrepreneurs must have a minimum of Tertiary Education, be founder/co-founder of an existing business within the green and social space, be computer literate, and have access to and be able to use a digitally enabled device.

Eligibility

  • The Target sectors: Renewable energy, Circular economy, Climate change, Green economy, Social Enterprise, Eco-friendly businesses, Sustainable agriculture, Water conservation, and Sustainability Development.
  • Early Stage Business (1 – 5 Years)
  • Must have at least 2 Staff Members
  • Must be Residence In  Ogun
  • Age 18-40 Years
  • Minimum Education: Tertiary Education

Program Structure

The program is a Hybrid (70% virtual and 30% in-person) 9-week enterprise education program focused on capacity building on essential business knowledge, strategies, skills, and tools to build sustainable businesses within the sustainability ecosystem. The program will be facilitated by various industry leaders and professionals within the social and green space and also across the entrepreneurship ecosystem using a pedagogy approach to build networks amongst the entrepreneurs and encourage group/teamwork for better learning. The robust learning structure is a combination of in-person and virtual interactive class sessions, workshops, case studies, entrepreneurship book reviews, plenary sessions, masterclasses, and group activities.

The Aspiring Entrepreneurs Programme, Sustainability curriculum has been designed to provide insight and relevant knowledge to aspiring and budding entrepreneurs within the Green and Social ecosystem leveraging on the 14 toolkit designed to help Entrepreneurs in the targeted sector to start and grow Green and Social Enterprises.

They are using only 14 toolkits, and the following are the 14 toolkits:

  1. Foundation of Social and Green Entrepreneurs
  2. Self-Reflection Framework
  3. Problem Tree Tool
  4. SDG Impact Wheel
  5. Value Proposition Canvas
  6. Social Business Model Canvas Tool
  7. Assumption Mapper Tool
  8. Experiment Card Tool
  9. Assumption Learning Card Tool
  10. Access to finance tool
  11. Legal Health Check Tool
  12. Theory of Change Tool
  13. Grow your business tool
  14. Logical Framework Tool

Timeline

OGUN:

  •  Application June 19, 2023- August 05, 2023
  • Screening August 7, 2023 – August 15, 2023
  • Program Duration August 30- October 13, 2023

Application Process

Stage I: Interested applicants must complete the application form on the FATE SOAR Platform and upload the following documents:

  • A Profile Picture (headshot facing camera)
  • Certificate or Statement of Result Tertiary Education
  • Birth Certificate
  • Curriculum vitae
  • CAC Document (If Registered)

Stage II: Following a review of all received applications, 100 candidates will be shortlisted for a 10-20 minute phone/video interview after which 40 applicants will be admitted to the program in each of the targeted locations.

Through the support of Youth Business International and other Partners, the program is FREE to all entrepreneurs who successfully scale through the two application stages. This scholarship support from YBI covers all direct course fees including course materials, books, data support, and post-program support.

This is a Hybrid training, and it is expected that each entrepreneur enrolled for the program must be from the location/state where you have applied for the program. This will also be verified during the shortlisting/selection process.
