Call For Applications: Federal Government NIYA Gigs Program For Young Nigerians 2025

NiYA Gigs is a national platform under the broader Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA) ecosystem that equips and connects youth with digital gigs both locally and globally.

The NIYA Gigs Digital Skills Nigerian Youth is one of the programs of the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA) launched in March 2025.

The NiYA Application portal was launched by Nigeria’s Vice President to showcase the administration’s commitment to equipping Nigerian youths with the necessary skills to thrive in the global economy.

NiYA Gigs is a national platform under the broader Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA) ecosystem that equips and connects youth with digital gigs both locally and globally. The platform:

  • Matches skilled youth with freelance job opportunities
  • Offers mentorship and capacity building
  • Helps young Nigerians build portfolios, gain clients, and earn sustainable incomes from anywhere

Why NiYA Gigs Matters

Nigerian youth are talented, diligent, relentless, and creative. The world needs to see it—and benefit from it. NiYA Gigs makes that possible by:

  • Breaking income barriers for youth in underserved and urban areas
  • Bridging the gap between skills and employment
  • Creating visibility for Nigerian youth on the global freelance map
  • Reducing unemployment and promoting youth economic independence

Eligibility Requirements :

To be considered for the NIYA Gigs Youth Initiative, you must:

  • Be a Nigerian
  • Have a digital skill in
    • graphic design
    • writing,
    • web development
    • virtual assistant, or
    • voice-over artistry
    • Others

Benefits:

The Federal Government NIYA Gigs Program provides a platform that;

  • Matches skilled youth with freelance job opportunities
  • Offers mentorship and capacity building
  • Helps young Nigerians build portfolios, gain clients, and earn sustainable incomes from anywhere

The program seeks to focus on three key areas;

  • Education and Skills Development by providing world-class training in digital literacy, technical skills, entrepreneurship, and the creative industries
  • Economic Empowerment through financial support, mentorship, and resources to budding entrepreneurs.
  • Leadership and Civic Engagement by nurturing the next generation of leaders through training in governance, policy-making, and community development.
