Share

Applications are now open for the FGN–ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme, a national digital skills and entrepreneurship initiative delivered through a strategic partnership between Wema Bank and the Federal Government of Nigeria, via the Office of the Vice President.

The programme is designed to equip Nigerian youths with future-ready digital, entrepreneurial, and professional skills that align with today’s fast-evolving market realities. By combining training, mentorship, and practical exposure, the initiative aims to unlock youth potential, drive innovation, and strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global digital economy.

Why this programme matters

Nigeria’s youth population represents one of the country’s greatest strengths. However, limited access to relevant skills, mentorship, and opportunities continues to hinder many young people from fully participating in the digital economy. The FGN–ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme directly addresses this gap by providing structured pathways for skills development, career growth, and entrepreneurship. Beyond individual impact, the programme supports national development by promoting job creation, innovation, and sustainable economic growth.

What the programme offers
Participants will benefit from a holistic ecosystem that blends learning with real-world application, including:

  • Digital and innovation-focused skills training
  • Entrepreneurship development and incubation support
  • Mentorship from industry experts and professionals
  • Career-focused pathways for employed and aspiring professionals
Access to tools, networks, and opportunities to scale ideas and careers

Who can apply
The programme is open to young Nigerians who are motivated to grow, learn, and contribute meaningfully to the digital economy, including:

Young entrepreneurs looking to build or scale digital and innovation-driven ventures
Career-driven professionals seeking to upgrade their digital skills and workplace relevance
Youth interested in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship
Individuals ready to commit to structured learning and development

Programme focus
The FGN–ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme goes beyond basic skills acquisition. It is built to nurture innovation, encourage enterprise creation, and support career advancement through tailored learning tracks and practical experiences that reflect real market needs.

By participating, beneficiaries become part of a broader national effort to prepare a skilled, adaptable, and competitive workforce capable of thriving in a digital-first world.
