A landmark opportunity has emerged for schools across the world as the Global Schools Prize opens applications for its inaugural US $1 million award. Designed to honour institutions that are redefining what exceptional education looks like, the prize celebrates schools that are innovating, inspiring, and shaping the future of learning.

Launched in 2025 by UAE education philanthropist Sunny Varkey, the Global Schools Prize completes a transformative trilogy that includes the Global Teacher Prize and Global Student Prize. Together, these awards fuel a global conversation around excellence in teaching, learning, and educational leadership, spotlighting the people and institutions pushing education forward.

Eligibility
The Global Schools Prize is open to:

• All privately funded schools worldwide
• Institutions serving students up to age 18
• Schools operating in full compliance with their local laws
• Schools that can demonstrate exceptional commitment to quality education, innovation, and impact

Categories
Schools may apply for multiple categories.
Each submission will be assessed using rigorous, globally benchmarked criteria designed to recognise institutions leading change in different dimensions of education.

Benefits
• Ten category winners will each receive US $50,000.
• One remarkable school will be selected as the overall Global Schools Prize winner and awarded US $500,000 to scale its work, expand its model, and amplify its global impact.
• Global visibility, recognition, and access to a network of leading educators and education innovators.

Schools shaping the future of education are encouraged to enter and share their work with the world.
