Share

Are you a woman working in clean energy—or do you know one?

RMI’s Global Women in Clean Energy Fellowship is now accepting applications from women professionals in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Zambia. This fellowship is designed to empower emerging leaders with the skills, networks, and resources needed to drive the clean energy transition in their countries and beyond.

About the Fellowship

Launched by RMI’s Energy Transition Academy (ETA), the fellowship supports women leaders in the Global South to grow their technical, leadership, and strategic capacities in clean energy. The inaugural cohort—delivered in partnership with local and global actors, including AMP—will kick off in June 2025.

The fellowship offers:

  • Technical Training on distributed energy resources and local business models
  • Project Management skills, including risk mitigation, procurement, and finance
  • Group Mentorship with women energy leaders from across sectors
  • Peer Networking with other passionate women across the region
  • Capstone Project to develop a clean energy policy, initiative, or strategy in your country

Program Timeline and Commitment

  • Duration: June 16 – October 31, 2025
  • Format: Online (mix of live and self-paced content)
  • Time Commitment: ~15 hours/month
  • 2 live sessions/month (1.5 hours each)
  • ~3 hours/week of self-paced learning

Leadership Accelerator

Select fellows will be invited to a 3-day in-person leadership workshop in November 2025. This advanced training will focus on hands-on leadership skills for women leading clean energy projects or shaping policy. A separate selection process will occur during the fellowship.

Who Should Apply?

We’re looking for early to mid-career women who:

  • Are currently working on clean energy projects or policies in Nigeria, Ethiopia, or Zambia
  • Are passionate about leadership, innovation, and social impact in the energy space
  • Want to grow their network and drive meaningful change in their communities

How to Apply

Deadline: May 21, 2025 (11:59 PM EAT | 10:59 PM CET)
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a video interview.
