The Circular Economy ClimAccelerator in Nairobi is a result-oriented program targeted at local Circular Economy (relatively mature) solutions that are shifting the local ecosystem towards more circularity.

ClimAccelerator is a global program for start-ups to innovate, catalyze and scale the potential of their climate solutions.

The Circular Economy ClimAccelerator in Nairobi is an acceleration program targeted at local solutions that are working towards shifting the local ecosystem towards more circularity. This ClimAccelerator focuses on supporting existing solutions in waste management and prevention to further scale.

Application Criteria

To be eligible for the program, your business must meet the following criteria:

  • For profit, post-revenue business with an annual turnover of USD 50,000+
  • Have a product/service that eliminates/reduces/prevents waste at its source.
  • Have a product/service that has a social/environmental/local impact.
  • Have solutions that benefit / target / impact the informal sectors (and associated marginalized communities).
  • Operating within the Nairobi Metropolitan area.
  • At least 2 FULL-TIME co-founders, with 5+ FULL-TIME employees.
  • 3+ years of existence.

Program Details

Phase 1:

  • 5 months of Audit & Analysis, Goals, Gaps and GrowthSprints development, Circular Impact Assessment & Climate Impact Validation.
  • 5 workshops: 3 full days in a week. 1 workshop per month (Tuesday-Thursday in person in Nairobi).
  • One on one in-house support: 4 sessions.
  • Local and international mentoring: 10 sessions (hybrid).

Phase 2: 

  • 1 month investment readiness support and pitch event

Total 29 sessions.
