Call For Applications: Lead(H)er Fellowship 2025 for Young Women in Africa [Cohort 4]

The tripartite partnership, YouLead Africa, Plan International and the African Union Office of the Youth Envoy, are delighted to launch the 4th cohort of the Lead(H)er Fellowship. This name for Expression of Interest serves as an opportunity for younger ladies leaders primarily based in Eastern, Southern Africa, and the Middle East.

Lead(H)er stands for “she is a leader” and the Fellowship was conceptualized with the intention of supporting younger ladies in Africa by nurturing their expertise, experience and aspirations in the fields of Politics, Economics/Business and Peace and Security. The intention of the Fellowship is to supply a protected area for Young Women who haven’t been uncovered a lot to regional and worldwide alternatives, whereas amplifying their influence at native and grassroots ranges. In doing so, they imagine that younger ladies with a peculiar curiosity in political participation, financial governance and peace and safety will form their contribution in these fields.

This year, the Lead(H)er Fellowship is conceptualized as a 5-month Fellowship: The first week might be held bodily, and the remainder might be digital. For the digital element, it’s anticipated that the Fellow gives at the least 10 hours per thirty days, which incorporates digital gatherings and private assignments. 2 hours per week might be devoted to digital gatherings with the trainers, and a pair of hours per thirty days might be devoted for private assignments, group work and readings.

Eligibility

  • Open to younger ladies not older than 25 years outdated;
  • Be a nationwide/resident of the next nations: Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Lesotho, Zambia, Somalia, Sudan, Egypt and Zimbabwe.

Benefits

  • The Fellows might be supplied with web packages to facilitate their participation in the digital classes and completing the assignments.
