Call For Applications: Nigerian Genius Campus Edition Engineering Competition 2026( ₦1 Million Prize)
Share

The Nigerian Genius Campus Edition 2026 is a high-impact engineering innovation competition in Nigeria created to discover, develop, and reward exceptional undergraduate engineering students with strong technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.

Organized by Engineering for Industry, this campus-focused initiative brings together talented students from universities and polytechnics across the country to compete for a ₦1,000,000 cash prize, hands-on engineering training, and valuable industry exposure.

The programme is particularly beneficial for students seeking engineering scholarships, innovation funding, technical internships, and industry-relevant experience, making it an excellent opportunity for those building strong academic and professional profiles.

About

The Nigerian Genius Campus Edition is a team-based engineering challenge that emphasizes real-world problem-solving and practical application rather than theoretical knowledge alone.

Selected teams will take part in an intensive one-week innovation programme, where they collaborate across disciplines, apply engineering principles, and develop functional solutions using modern tools and fabrication techniques.

The programme is strongly aligned with industry-ready skills development, making it ideal for students interested in careers in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, embedded systems, and product development.

Eligibility Criteria

Based on the official programme guidelines, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Applications must be submitted by a team of three (3) engineering students
  • Team members are preferably from different engineering disciplines
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a Nigerian university or polytechnic
  • Teams with female participants are strongly encouraged to apply

This structure promotes diversity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and inclusive participation in engineering innovation.

Key Benefits

Participants in the Nigerian Genius Campus Edition 2026 will enjoy several benefits, including:

  • ₦1,000,000 cash prize for the winning team
  • Participation in a one-week intensive engineering innovation programme
  • Free accommodation and meals throughout the programme
  • Hands-on experience in engineering design, fabrication, and prototyping
  • Exposure to structured, real-world engineering work environments
  • Networking opportunities with engineering professionals, innovation hubs, and industry partners
  • A strong addition to CVs, graduate job applications, and future scholarship opportunities

These benefits make the program especially attractive for students searching for engineering funding opportunities, technical training programs, and innovation competitions in Nigeria.

Required Skills and Engineering Focus Areas

Each team is expected to demonstrate complementary technical skills across key engineering areas, including but not limited to:

  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
  • Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
  • Embedded Systems
  • Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design
  • Welding and Fabrication
  • Applied mechanical and electrical engineering skills

While individual team members are not required to possess all these skills, the team as a whole should collectively cover multiple areas.

Programme Venue and Duration

  • Venue: Advanced Engineering Centre (AEC), Aba
  • Duration: One (1) week
  • Accommodation and Meals: Fully provided

This arrangement enables participants to focus entirely on learning, collaboration, and innovation without logistical concerns.

Application Deadline: Closing Date: 11 January 2026
