The Robotics Artificial Intelligence Nigeria Scholarship offers a free tuition opportunity for young Nigerians to learn robotics design, drone technology, IoT, and embedded systems.

Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria (RAIN), with RC Number RC1607482, was established in 2019 to address the critical gap in skilled workforce development in Nigeria and West Africa in emerging technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Their mission is to foster innovation, build capacity, and enable technological transformation in AI, robotics, and related fields.

Students receive their IMES when they enter their first year at UBC, and the scholarships are renewable for up to three additional years of study.

The number and level of these scholarships awarded each year vary, depending on available funding.

Eligibility 

Academic Qualifications
  • Recent graduates
  • Preferably but not limited to First-class degree holders with excellent references from university lecturers
  • Backgrounds in Engineering, Computer Science, Computing, Mathematics, or Physical Sciences
Technical Requirements
  • Demonstrable knowledge of coding (especially Python, C++, or C)
  • Passion for robotics, automation, and/or artificial intelligence
  • Must provide own laptop (16GB RAM, Core i7 recommended) and arrange accommodation in Ibadan
Citizenship & Residency
  • Open to any individual legally permitted to study in Nigeria
  • Not limited to Nigerian citizens, welcome to qualified candidates from across West Africa

  • Tuition Coverage (from ₦7,700,000)
  • Starter Kit Included
  • Comprehensive Training (12 or 24 months)

Required Documents 

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

  • Comprehensive resume/CV
  • Two Letters of recommendation addressed to the Director, RAIN
  • Academic transcripts
  • Proof of coding knowledge/projects
  • Other supporting documents as requested

    •  Your background and personality
    •  Why you’re suitable for this scholarship
    •  Your knowledge of RAIN and our mission
    •  Your coding experience and expertise
    •  How you plan to contribute to Nigeria’s technological growth
    •  Relevant experience (including final year projects)
    •  Which program track you’re applying for (RDA, AIML, or Combined)
  2. Post your video on YouTube and share the link via email to:
