Call For Applications: Société Générale Women in Africa (WIA) 2024 Responsible Entrepreneurs Competition for African Women Entrepreneurs.

This year, in partnership with Société Générale, WIA’s long-standing partner on the WIA54 program, WIA Philanthropy is proud to launch the “Responsible Entrepreneurs” competition to generate an even more significant impact in Africa.

The “Responsible Entrepreneurs” competition aims to reward African women entrepreneurs who, through their businesses, contribute significantly to the social, economic and environmental impact in their communities. This competition is a unique opportunity for women to display their commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility.

As part of this new phase of collaboration, Société Générale and WIA Philanthropy will place a specific focus on Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, and Senegal. The main objective of this initiative is to support and promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), while developing dynamic local initiatives around female entrepreneurship.

Requirements

Conditions of participation include:

  • Have founded and run a business in one of the four target countries for at least one year.
  • Have integrated a CSR program within the company, with positive results to support it.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to expanding CSR impact at the Pan-African level.
  • Evaluation criteria
    • Submission of a complete CSR report during the call for applications, detailing the initiatives implemented and the results obtained
    • Demonstration of the positive impact of the CSR program in place within the company
    • Affirmed ambition to extend CSR impact on a pan-African scale

The program

Training

The program aims to select and support four exceptional female entrepreneurs through a competitive call for applications process. Selected participants will benefit from intensive online training over six months, from June to December 2024. This training, designed in close collaboration with WIA Philanthropy, will cover several essential facets of entrepreneurship, equipping participants with the skills necessary for development. of their businesses.

Through its extensive network, Société Générale will offer networking opportunities at the national, pan-African, and international levels, thus promoting the creation of a sustainable and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Mentoring and visibility

A personalized mentoring program will be put in place, allowing entrepreneurs to receive advice from experienced professionals. Additionally, a dedicated communications plan will be developed to promote participants’ successes and initiatives through WIA media, including the website and social media.

Selection Process:

  • Submission of applications: Interested entrepreneurs are invited to submit their application detailing their project and the CSR impact generated.
  • Evaluation: A jury composed of experts in entrepreneurship, sustainable development and representatives of Société Générale and WIA will evaluate the applications.
  • Announcement of the winners: The winners will be announced on the Women In Africa website and social networks.
