The WAAW Foundation (Working to Advance STEM Education for African Women) has opened applications for its 2025 Scholarship Programme, offering financial and leadership support to young African women pursuing undergraduate degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
This scholarship helps close the gender gap in STEM by empowering academically talented women to thrive in science and technology careers—while serving as mentors for the next generation of innovators across Africa.
Women remain significantly underrepresented in STEM disciplines across Africa. Beyond funding, WAAW Foundation’s programme is designed to cultivate a new generation of female scientists, engineers, and technologists who will use their expertise to transform their communities and accelerate sustainable development on the continent.
Since its inception, the Foundation has supported hundreds of young women in STEM through scholarships, mentorship, and outreach programmes, driving long-term impact in African education and innovation ecosystems.
