The World Food Forum (WFF) is an innovative initiative hosted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the ollaboratively to create sustainable agrifood systems. Positioned as the leading global platform, the WFF is dedicated to reimagining the future of food and aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering collaboration across diverse sectors, the WFF advances critical pathways that support sustainable agriculture, enhance food security, and drive meaningful transformations on both local and global scales.

The WFF’s efforts center on three key pillars: youth action, scientific advancement, and investment. By harnessing the power of youth leadership, science, and innovative financing models, the WFF builds multi-sector partnerships that actively address the challenges facing agrifood systems. This collaborative approach aims to shape a future where communities worldwide enjoy a more resilient, equitable, and food-secure environment.

Among its impactful programs, the WFF has launched the Agrifood Leadership Education Programme in partnership with Real Food Systems (RFS). This initiative seeks to cultivate emerging leaders in the agrifood sector by focusing on essential leadership skills, promoting community-driven initiatives, and fostering systemic change. With an emphasis on job readiness, the program is structured around three core components—Explore, Encourage, and Experience—which guide participants through a journey of learning, growth, and practical engagement. Through this program, young advocates gain the expertise, inspiration, and practical tools necessary to drive transformation within their communities and build sustainable, resilient, and inclusive agrifood systems for future generations.

The Agrifood Leadership Education Programme brings numerous benefits to young leaders eager to create lasting change within the agrifood sector.

By offering hands-on experience in leadership and advocacy, the program equips participants with critical skills that enhance their job readiness, empowering them to take on significant roles within their communities and industries. The program’s focus on youth action and community impact provides young food advocates with the tools to lead local initiatives that address food security and sustainability, fostering a new generation of changemakers.

Participants benefit from mentorship and networking opportunities, connecting with experts across multiple sectors, which broadens their perspectives and deepens their understanding of complex global food systems. The program’s three-part structure—Explore, Encourage, and Experience—guides young leaders through a comprehensive learning journey that blends theory with real-world practice. This approach ensures that participants are not only knowledgeable but also fully equipped to implement effective solutions within their communities. Ultimately, the program’s emphasis on inclusivity, resilience, and sustainable practices empowers young food actors to champion agrifood transformations that contribute to a hunger-free, sustainable future for all.
