Call For Applications: WomenPower2030 Seed-Grant 2025 For Nigeria and Seirra Leone

Women Environmental Programme (WEP) calls for applications from women-led and women’s rights organizations to contribute to realizing the goal of the WomenPower2030: Feminist Accelerate Actions for Sustainable Development. The WomenPower2030 project has the overall objective to advance the rights and leadership of women, girls, and other marginalized persons in the framework of sustainable development.

The project’s expected outcome is increased engagement and influence of women´s and feminist Civil Society Organizations in the design and implementation of gender-just climate action and sustainable development policies, strategies, and programs at the national, regional, and global levels.

WomenPower2030:Feminist Accelerate Action for Sustainable Development is a Financial Framework Partnership Agreement (FFPA) between European Union and a consortium of 5 feminist organizations led by Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF). Other consortium members are: Women Environmental Programme; African Women’s Development and Communication Network -FEMNET; Asia Pacific Forum for Women, Law and Development (APWLD); and Fundacion Para Estudio E Investigacion de la Mujer (FEIM).

2. Areas of focus

The women-led and women’s rights organizations are to use this seed-grants to design and implement initiatives that will contribute to the realization of the goal of the WomenPower2030 project. These initiatives should be designed, touching on one or a combination of the following areas:

Policy monitoring and dialogue with policy makers

Educational and awareness raising activities on gender and/or sustainable development

Movement building

Demonstrating equitable and sustainable solutions and services

Gender specific trainings and monitoring/women leadership trainings

Tracking SDG/climate policies and budgets

Social media campaign and mainstream media activities

Note: Initiatives whose primary focus is only awareness raising and workshops will not be accepted. Priority will be given to initiatives that aim to influence policies in favour of women, demonstrate sustainable solution and services and ensure gender responsive budgets where women’s needs are integrated.

3. Eligibility

You are a women-led and women’s rights organization

Women make up at least 70% of your management team

Your organization is affiliated with the Gender Advocacy Movement for the Environment (GAME) or any national, regional or global women’s movement or network.

Your organization has not been convicted of fraud or any criminal activity

Your organization has demonstrable capacity to effectively deliver on projects

Your organization is based in Sierra Leone or Nigeria

 4. Duration of work

The duration of projects should be between 3 to 6 months

5. Budget

The maximum amount for each initiative is 5,000 EUR

6. Language of application

English language

7. How to Apply

Applications should be submitted in Word (doc, docx) format with the following attachments:

Detailed budget (Excel Sheet)

Certificate of registration

Letter of reference

Track record of activities (e.g reports, media links, or testimonials from previous projects) compiled as a single document

We may request more information from you should there be a need.

Applications that do not address the specified areas of the assignment will not be considered.

Application should not be more than 10 pages (excluding attachments).
