DHQ Organizes Veterans Skill Acquisition and Financial Management Training in South-South Nigeria
Share

The Veterans Affairs Division of the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) is hosting a Veterans Skill Acquisition and Financial Management Training in the South-South Geo-Political Zone from February 12 to 14, 2024, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Directed by Major General Danladi I Salihu, the training aligns with the leadership concept of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher G. Musa, to nurture a Professional Armed Forces of Nigeria that is people-centric, collaborative, and capable of meeting its constitutional responsibilities in a joint environment.

Focused on ensuring a comfortable and purposeful life for veterans through education, the training emphasizes the importance of improved standards of living. Lack of proper planning before retirement has been a major challenge for veterans, making such training timely and essential.

General Musa, known for his commitment to capacity building, believes in supporting the welfare of troops, their families, veterans, and widows of fallen heroes. He anticipates that this training will greatly benefit veterans and serving military personnel from the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN).

This initiative reflects DHQ’s dedication to empowering veterans and ensuring their well-being, contributing to stronger and more resilient armed forces.
