The maiden edition of the Digital Professional Fair (DPF) is set to empower 10,000 young Nigerians with in-demand digital skills, career mentorship, and entrepreneurial guidance. The event is scheduled to take place from August 6th to 8th in Lagos, attracting freelancers, students, startups, and established professionals from across the country.
Described as more than an event, the Fair is a movement to unlock digital potential, according to Tutu Adetunmbi, Convener of the DPF. Speaking during a pre-event media briefing, Adetunmbi noted, “We’re bridging the gap between raw potential and real opportunity, starting in Lagos and extending to the global stage. Africa’s digital economy is not just the future,it is the now.”
Already, over 3,000 people have registered, with 1,500 participants expected daily both online and on-site, culminating in an estimated 10,000 total attendees.
The Fair is structured to support attendees at different stages of their professional journey:
- Day One – The Digital Career Kickstart
Focused on young talents aged 18–24, including students, fresh graduates, and digital creatives. This session will cover foundational skills, access to certifications, mentorship, and career pathways in tech and media. - Day Two – Freelancer & Solopreneur Bootcamp
Targeting freelancers and early-stage entrepreneurs (25–30 years old), this segment will provide guidance on monetizing digital skills, navigating the gig economy, and building sustainable online businesses. - Day Three – Scaling & Global Expansion
Aimed at established professionals aged 30+, this session will focus on growth strategies, global market access, funding, and partnerships for scaling digital ventures.
The DPF also introduces a digital marketplace for SMEs, allowing youth-led businesses and solopreneurs to showcase their offerings, connect with investors, and explore real-time collaborations.
By equipping attendees with digital tools and industry connections, the Fair hopes to ignite a new wave of employment, innovation, and economic inclusion across Nigeria.
