Ecobank Nigeria announces appointment of New Deputy Managing Director

The Board of Ecobank Nigeria has announced the appointment of Carol Oyedeji as a Deputy Managing Director.

According to Ecobank Nigeria’s chairman, Ms. Bola Adesola, the Pan African Bank’s objectives and vision will benefit from Ms. Oyedeji’s wealth of experience.

Additionally, Mr. Bolaji Lawal, the managing director of Ecobank Nigeria, said the appointment was a recognition of her commitment to the Ecobank brand and hard work.

He expressed optimism that the appointment will inspire and motivate other hardworking and goal-oriented personnel within the company to keep fostering long-term success for the lender.

She is a seasoned banker and corporate administrator with over 30 years of experience. Before joining Ecobank, she was the Regional Head of Client Acquisition & Relationship for Africa and the Middle East at Standard Chartered Bank, where she covered Retail Distribution in 14 countries across the Region.

Ms Oyedeji was also, at various times, Head of Business Banking for Standard Chartered Africa, Regional Head for Consumer Banking in West Africa, and Non-Executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank Gambia.

The appointment of Mrs. Oyedeji, has since been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
