Ekiti State Partners with ALAT by Wema Bank to Empower 100,000 Youth and MSMEs

The Ekiti State Government, in collaboration with ALAT by Wema Bank, has launched a comprehensive empowerment program aimed at training and empowering 100,000 youth and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the state. The initiative, coordinated through the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, seeks to enhance business management, digital empowerment, and finance management skills among participants, driving sustainable growth and boosting the state’s macroeconomic conditions.

The program will be delivered through a mix of virtual and physical training sessions, focusing on key areas such as business management, digitalization, and financial management. Participants will also benefit from mentorship provided by experienced entrepreneurs from both Nigeria and abroad. Upon completing the training, participants will receive certificates of participation, marking their achievement and readiness to apply their new skills in real-world business scenarios.

In addition to the educational components, the program offers participants access to markets and financial assistance, ensuring they can implement their training effectively and scale their operations. This holistic approach is designed to foster sustained growth and enable youth and MSMEs to make significant contributions to the economic development of Ekiti State.

Otunba Kayode Fasae, Ekiti State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “Our goal with this partnership with ALAT by Wema Bank is to implement a two-pronged approach that contains two missing key ingredients of wealth creation and employment generation, which are skill development and finance.”

This initiative is set to significantly impact the economic landscape of Ekiti State, empowering a new generation of entrepreneurs and small business owners to thrive in a competitive market environment
