Energia Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous energy companies, has launched a graduate trainee programme designed to accelerate the career development of young professionals entering the country’s oil and gas industry.

In a statement on Monday, the company said the programme will provide hands-on exposure across core operational and business units, enabling participants to understand both field and office activities within the broader oil and gas value chain. Trainees will also receive mentorship and coaching from experienced industry professionals.

Speaking at the launch, Chief Operating Officer of Energia Limited, Oladimeji Bashorun, said the initiative reflects the company’s long-term investment in developing the next generation of sector leaders.

“At Energia, we recognise that the future of our industry lies in the hands of today’s young professionals. This programme is our way of investing in Nigeria’s brightest minds, equipping them with practical skills, exposure, and the confidence to thrive in a fast-evolving energy landscape,” he said.

General Manager, HR & Corporate Services, Tope Daramola, described the programme as a platform that will strengthen career readiness and build a sustainable talent pipeline for the company.

“Our goal is to provide young Nigerians with more than just work experience; we are offering a launchpad for meaningful careers. Through mentorship, teamwork, and continuous learning, our trainees will develop the competence and values that define Energia’s culture of excellence and innovation,” he noted.

The programme is open to Nigerian graduates with at least a Second-Class Upper degree in Engineering, Geosciences, Business, Finance and related fields, or a Second-Class Lower with a Master’s distinction. Applicants must have completed the National Youth Service Corps in 2023 or later. The application deadline is December 12, 2025.

According to the company, the initiative aligns with Energia’s vision to become a leading provider of sustainable and reliable energy in Africa, driven by excellence, integrity, and human capital development. Energia added that it remains committed to responsible operations, strong community partnerships and maintaining high safety standards across its activities.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the company’s website for full details and application procedures.
