EnergyPro, in collaboration with Polska Fundacja dla Afryki, has trained and empowered residents of Ibadan in solar installation, safety practices and power bank construction, as part of efforts to promote renewable energy adoption and skills development in Nigeria.
The company said the initiative aligns with its mission to use renewable energy solutions to create income opportunities, empower individuals and improve quality of life for Nigerians.
Speaking at the opening of EnergyPro’s office in Ibadan, the co-founder, Akinmolayan Peter, said the programme was designed as a way of giving back to society by addressing power challenges while equipping people with practical, income-generating skills.
“Solving problems and empowering people are the best ways to live in peace,” he said, urging Nigerians to embrace solar energy as a sustainable alternative critical to the country’s economic development. According to him, Nigeria’s economy cannot achieve meaningful growth without stable and reliable power supply.
Former Oyo State Commissioner, Prof. Raphael Afonja, noted that no nation can experience significant development without adequate electricity, advising beneficiaries to remain competitive and maximise the skills acquired during the training.
Also speaking, Prince Abiodun Adeyemi commended EnergyPro for the initiative,
describing power supply as fundamental to national development and economic productivity.
Beneficiaries of the programme expressed appreciation, noting that the training would enhance their capacity to meet household and business energy needs, especially amid persistent power outages in the country.
