First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has empowered 30 young graduates through its Flexxtern program, an internship initiative aimed at providing real-world experience and skills development for Nigerian youths.
Yomi Adebanjo, Group Head of Human Resources at Signal Alliance Technology Holding, praised the program’s impact, stating, “The Flexxtern program is a platform for self-discovery and career progression. Our first Flexxtern is now employed full-time with us, and this initiative has been remarkable since we joined in 2021.”
Since its inception in 2016, FCMB’s Flexxtern program has provided over 200 young Nigerians with valuable work experience through internships at reputable organizations. Targeted at individuals aged 18 to 30, the initiative has become a gateway to launching successful careers across various industries.
Olawale Ayuba, Vice President of GRC and Enterprise Fraud at ActivEdge Technologies, shared the positive contributions of Flexxterns to the organization, saying, “Their contributions have been key to our success, and we are eager to continue this partnership to create more life-changing opportunities.”
Ifeoluwa Adeyemo of Insight Publicis echoed similar sentiments, praising the program’s impact: “The Flexxterns that have come to us are nothing short of great. We are committed to ensuring this partnership grows and achieves the desired results.”
Felicia Obozuwa, Divisional Head of Corporate Services & Service Management at FCMB, emphasized the importance of partnerships in building a brighter future for Nigerian youth. “Our collaboration with leading organizations is rooted in a shared vision to nurture talent and drive economic development,” she said.
Diran Olojo, Group Head of Corporate Affairs at FCMB, highlighted the bank’s commitment to preparing youths for the future of work. “The Flexxtern program reflects our dedication to shaping the next generation of leaders by offering mentorship, real-world training, and hands-on experience,” he noted.
In addition to the Flexxtern initiative, FCMB has also made significant contributions to healthcare through its “Priceless Gift of Sight” initiative, which recently restored the vision of approximately 150,000 visually impaired individuals in Kebbi State in partnership with the Tulsi Chanrai Foundation.
The Flexxtern program continues to expand, providing opportunities for young graduates to acquire essential skills and gain a foothold in their chosen industries, setting them on the path to career success.
