The Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology has committed its backing to the forthcoming Entrepreneurship Village (E-Village) project planned for Akure, Ondo State. Chief Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, affirmed this commitment during a gathering with E-Village stakeholders in Abuja.
Highlighting the project’s potential to fuel innovation, employment, and economic advancement, Minister Nnaji praised the E-Village initiative, emphasizing its alignment with the ministry’s ambition for a technology-centric future. “The Entrepreneurship Village resonates with our vision for a tech-oriented future, and I wholeheartedly endorse and support this endeavor,” stated the minister.
Asserting the project’s significance in positioning Nigeria as a technological innovation hub, Minister Nnaji assured collaborative efforts and policy initiatives from the ministry to propel the E-Village towards greater accomplishments.
Dr. Summy Francis, President of Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs, representing other stakeholders, shed light on E-Village’s broader goals. He described it as a significant social impact initiative addressing prevailing educational, entrepreneurial, and infrastructural gaps in the African economy.
Francis further emphasized that E-Village’s entrepreneurial ecosystem aims to identify, train, and nurture budding entrepreneurs, serving as a catalyst for job creation and addressing present and impending challenges across the continent.
Anticipated to host prestigious institutions such as the New York Institute of Finance, the London Academy Business School, the Metropolitan School of Business and Management (UK), and the School of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, E-Village aims to foster human capacity development.
Additionally, the project plans to accommodate facilities like the Octagon Business Hub, Megamindz Creative Academy, and Research Cube, among others, poised to enhance the development of individuals within the entrepreneurial landscape.
