A Lagos-based health-tech company, Amani Health, has empowered over 1,000 children across Lagos State through structured vision-building, goal-setting and skill-development programmes aimed at strengthening confidence, emotional intelligence and future readiness among young people.
The empowerment initiative, delivered as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts, was implemented in partnership with Kreston Pedabo, a Nigerian professional services firm. According to a statement released on Monday, the programme targeted children and teenagers from Falomo High School, Slum2School Africa in Makoko, and other underserved communities across the state.
Designed to address growing social, academic and emotional pressures faced by young people, the programme focused on helping participants clarify their aspirations, develop self-awareness and build practical goal-setting skills at an early age.
The sessions were facilitated by Amani Health’s Co-founder, Ayodele Fasuyi, who led guided activities centred on emotional intelligence, self-expression and personal development. Through interactive exercises, participants were encouraged to identify their strengths, define personal goals and build confidence in their abilities.
“The challenges children face today — from academic pressure to social comparison and anxiety about the future — require early, intentional support,” Fasuyi said. “This programme was created to help young people develop emotional resilience, healthy self-esteem and practical tools they can apply both in school and in life.”
Activities at the event included vision board creation, group discussions, creative exercises and mentorship conversations, all designed to create a safe and supportive environment where children could express themselves freely and explore possibilities beyond their immediate circumstances.
With support from Kreston Pedabo, 100 children were fully sponsored to participate in the programme at no cost. Each participant received personalised vision boards, goal-setting workbooks and a “My Emotion Handbook” to support continued self-development beyond the event.
Organisers described the initiative as a long-term investment rather than a one-off intervention, noting its potential to shape how children approach goal-setting, emotional regulation and personal growth as they progress through school and into adulthood.
Kreston Pedabo said its involvement aligns with its commitment to youth empowerment, skills development and community impact, particularly in expanding access to life-skills education for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Amani Health noted that the programme supports its broader mission of promoting emotional wellbeing and life-skills development among children and teenagers. Through initiatives such as its Vision and Goal Setting Workshop and the Excel Beyond Classroom Programme, the company continues to deploy scalable interventions aimed at building confidence, clarity and purpose among young Nigerians.
