TracTrac, an agricultural mechanisation service provider, has equipped over 135,000 smallholder farmers with tractors and modern farming solutions to boost food production in Nigeria.
Founded in 2019, the company is tackling high costs, limited financing, and weak supply chains that hinder mechanisation. Through TracTrac-Plus, a real-time booking system, farmers can access mechanisation services, track assets, map farms, and make payments.
CEO Ohuruogu Godson said TracTrac is building a resilient ecosystem by providing farmers with tools, knowledge, and financial support. The company also supports women and young entrepreneurs, ensuring 50 per cent of newly trained service providers are women or individuals aged 18 to 35.
TracTrac is collaborating with policymakers and private investors to expand mechanisation, working with organisations like the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation and the Nigeria Economic Summit Group to push for favourable policies.
