Firm launches Solar Kiosk Initiative to empower 40,000 Young Nigerians
Share

Elite Logistics and Development Services Limited has announced a large-scale training program to equip 40,000 young Nigerians with hands-on skills in the fabrication and use of solar-powered kiosks. The initiative, set to commence in the last quarter of 2025, is aimed at expanding economic opportunities and driving sustainable entrepreneurship across the country.

At least 1,000 participants will be drawn from each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with the North Central region serving as the starting point. The training will focus on the construction, installation, and deployment of the company’s flagship product the Elite Smart Kiosk.

Speaking at the launch in Abuja, Group Managing Director of Elite Logistics, Mr. David Adesanya, said the project is designed to provide young Nigerians with practical skills that can generate both employment and business ventures. “This training program is a strategic plan to ensure that young Nigerians end the year with a skill that ushers them into robust economic opportunities in the new year,” he noted.

The Elite Smart Kiosk is a solar-powered, multifunctional structure with diverse applications including mobile health dispensaries, ICT booths, retail outlets, POS banking points, salons, exhibition stands, and security centres. According to Adesanya, the training will cover carpentry, electrical wiring, and solar panel installation, equipping participants with knowledge that cuts across several industries.

He further called on governments, NGOs, and development partners to embrace the kiosks as a tool for tackling unemployment and empowering communities. “The solar kiosk has a significant economic value chain that can lift people from obscurity to prosperity. It is reliable, low-maintenance, and capable of creating direct employment for young Nigerians,” he said.

The program is inclusive, targeting Nigerians of different age brackets, including those above 40. Adesanya encouraged youths in Kogi, Benue, Niger, Plateau, and Kwara states where the training will first be rolled out to take advantage of the opportunity to gain sustainable livelihood skills.

By combining renewable energy with entrepreneurship, the Elite Smart Kiosk training marks a significant step in addressing unemployment, promoting local innovation, and fostering long-term economic empowerment in Nigeria.
